PDO Threads
Lifting, Refining, Filling and Defining
It starts with a consultation… Treatment is tailored to your needs, your goals and your skin.
PDO Thread Rejuvenation
PDO threads are an advanced, minimally invasive aesthetic treatment designed to lift, support, contour, and rejuvenate the skin from within. Using strategically placed absorbable threads, this treatment can address visible signs of aging while stimulating your body's natural production of collagen and elastin.
Lifting threads are designed to provide structural support and reposition areas of mild-to-moderate skin laxity. They can help create a more lifted, defined, and youthful appearance in areas such as the cheeks, jawline, neck, brows, and other areas of concern.
Smooth PDO threads, sometimes called collagen-stimulating or volumizing threads, work differently. Rather than physically lifting tissue, multiple smooth threads can be placed in specific patterns to create a supportive framework beneath the skin. As the threads gradually dissolve, they stimulate the body's natural wound-healing response and encourage the production of new collagen and elastin, helping improve skin quality, firmness, texture, and subtle volume over time.
How Do PDO Threads Work?
PDO (polydioxanone) is a biocompatible, absorbable material that has been used in medicine for many years. Once placed beneath the skin, PDO threads create a controlled regenerative response. Over time, the threads are naturally absorbed, but the collagen and elastin stimulation they initiate can continue to support improvements in the skin.
The result is a treatment that focuses on building and strengthening your skin's own supportive structure rather than simply adding volume.
A More Natural Approach to Facial Rejuvenation
PDO threads can be an excellent option for patients who want to:
Lift and contour areas affected by skin laxity
Improve skin firmness and elasticity
Restore subtle, natural-looking volume
Enhance facial definition
Improve overall skin quality and texture
Stimulate long-term collagen production
Complement other aesthetic treatments
Strategically placed smooth threads may also help patients achieve rejuvenation with less reliance on traditional dermal filler, particularly when the goal is to improve skin structure and tissue quality rather than simply add volume.
For some patients, improving tissue support and addressing the underlying structural changes associated with aging may also complement a neuromodulator treatment plan and, in certain areas, reduce the amount or frequency of neuromodulator treatment desired. Results and treatment needs vary based on individual anatomy, muscle activity, skin quality, and aesthetic goals.
Personalized PDO Thread Treatment
Every PDO thread treatment is customized. Depending on your goals, your provider may recommend lifting threads, smooth collagen-stimulating threads, or a combination of both to create a comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation.
PDO threads offer an exciting approach to aesthetics: lift where needed, stimulate collagen from within, and help your skin rebuild a stronger, more youthful-looking foundation naturally.
PDO threads are not a replacement for every injectable or aesthetic treatment. Individual results vary, and a personalized consultation is necessary to determine the most appropriate treatment plan.
PDO Threads
Lifting Threads: Redefine Your Structure
Lifting threads (also called barbed or cog threads) feature tiny directional barbs along their length. Once inserted beneath the skin, these barbs anchor into the tissue and allow us to physically reposition and lift sagging skin — along the jawline, cheeks, brows, neck, and jowls.
Think of it as repositioning what time and gravity have shifted, without surgery and without downtime.
What lifting threads address:
Sagging jowls and jawline definition
Midface and cheek descent
Brow heaviness
Neck laxity and early "tech neck" changes
Loss of facial contour and projection
The lift is immediate and visible — and it continues to improve over the following weeks as your body responds.
Smooth Threads — Restore Volume and Texture from Within
Smooth threads are exactly what they sound like — smooth, without barbs. Rather than lifting, they are placed in a mesh-like pattern within the dermis to fill, plump, and resurface from the inside out.
These threads act as a scaffold, stimulating dense collagen and elastin production in the precise areas where volume loss, fine lines, and textural changes occur — lips, marionette lines, under-eye hollows, crepey skin on the neck and décolletage, and areas that filler alone can't naturally address.
What smooth threads address:
Fine lines and superficial wrinkles
Lip definition and perioral lines
Under-eye hollowing and crepiness
Skin texture and overall radiance
Volume loss in delicate areas where filler can appear overdone
The Real Magic: What's Happening Beneath the Surface
Here's what makes PDO threads uniquely powerful — and why the results continue long after the threads themselves have dissolved.
When a PDO thread is placed in the skin, your body recognizes it as a minor controlled injury and immediately goes to work. This triggers a natural wound-healing response that stimulates the production of two critical proteins:
Collagen — the structural protein responsible for skin firmness, bounce, and support
Elastin — the protein that gives skin its ability to spring back, stay taut, and resist sagging
As the threads dissolve (typically over 4–6 months), they leave behind a newly reinforced collagen matrix in their place. Your skin is literally denser, firmer, and more elastic than it was before — not because something foreign is sitting in it, but because your own tissue has been rebuilt.
Results typically peak at 3–4 months and can last 12–24 months depending on skin quality, lifestyle, and the treatment area. Many clients return for maintenance threads as part of a long-term skin health plan.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
PDO threads are ideal for anyone beginning to notice the early to moderate signs of aging who wants to address them with a natural, results-driven approach — without surgery, extended downtime, or an "overdone" appearance.
You may be a great candidate if you:
Are noticing sagging along the jawline, cheeks, or brows
Want to restore volume and softness in a way that looks natural — not filled
Are looking for a long-term strategy to reduce filler and tox dependency
Want to invest in your skin's underlying structure, not just its surface
Are between the ages of 35–70 and in generally good health
It's never too late to take care of yourself and regain a love for the reflection in your mirror. ✨

Less Filler. Less Botox. More You.
One of the most exciting — and often overlooked — benefits of PDO threads is their ability to reduce your dependence on other injectable treatments over time.
Reducing the need for dermal filler: Because smooth threads restore lost volume by stimulating your own collagen, many clients find they need significantly less filler to achieve the same fullness and support. Rather than repeatedly adding external volume, you're rebuilding the structural foundation that produces natural volume on its own. Clients who incorporate threads into their aesthetic plan often reduce their filler frequency and volume — while achieving results that look more natural and age-appropriate.
Reducing the need for neuromodulators (Botox/tox): Lifting threads physically reposition tissue and tighten skin, addressing some of the same gravitational and laxity concerns that neuromodulators are often used to manage. As skin becomes firmer and better supported through the collagen remodeling process, clients often find that their neuromodulator needs decrease — particularly in areas like the brow, lower face, and neck. The skin simply doesn't need as much chemical relaxation when it has structural support doing the work.
This is the difference between treating symptoms and addressing the cause. PDO threads work with your anatomy, not around it.
